My passion for preserving memories began in the last few years since my two grandma's have passed away. When I was young I remember sitting down with them and they'd pull out their pictures and tell me the story behind each one. Had I known they would never be told again I would have captured each story with pen and paper rather than leaving it to my young mind. The who, what, where, why and when behind those images is now faded and some are completely gone.

When each of my grandmas passed away they left behind boxes and boxes full of loose pictures; untold stories. Too many of the pictures have no clue left as to who are in the pictures and where the pictures were taken and WHY they were taken. I loved sitting on the couch right next to them, listening to them tell some of their stories. It was one of my favorite ways of getting to know them. I learned more about them in those times than any other time. Each memory was infused with emotion and passion for those events and people who touched their lives.

Since the realization that all those missing names, places and stories will never be re-told the exact way my grandma's could tell them, with all the detail and background information I've decided to not let the same thing happen to my stories. I am capturing my attitude, personality, creativity and the details of each story that coincide with each photograph. 

What Is The Worst That Can Happen If You Don't Preserve Your Memories? 

First, as mentioned above...you can forget the who, what, where, when and why and your posterity will lose that part of you when you're gone. Secondly, when my dad's mom passed away she left at least one box full of beautiful pictures with not so much as a single date or name on the back of any of the pictures. My dad has no recollection of people's faces, places or the time frame in which the photos were taken. It's so sad because obviously those pictures were taken to remember people and special or fun events.

So now that my dad has inherited all these mysterious pictures what do you think is going to happen to them?
